Ford Verve at the Detroit Motor Show
14 January 2008, from autoblog.com
Ford's Verve Sedan concept rappelled to the ground in a smoky haze here in Detroit and the four-door concept proved to be a bit more squat, and less dynamic, in person. The Kinetic design language melds well with the compact sedan, looking more like a Mondeo at 2/3rds scale, which isn't a bad thing. But we're hoping for something a bit more sporting (like it's little brother that ran around the stage) and the Verve didn't quite deliver. read more...

Ford Verve Detroit Motor Show Press Release
13 January 2008, from Ford Motor Company
Ford Motor Company is revealing the Verve, a concept vehicle that makes clear the vision for the new small cars Ford soon will introduce in North America.
The Verve is bold and sophisticated – to help it clearly stand out from other small cars on the road. Ford is building on decades of small car leadership in Europe as it develops new small cars for North America to appeal to increasingly savvy customers who value technology, design and fuel efficiency.
Both four- and three-door Verve body styles are being unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, as curtain-raisers to a new global family of small cars set to debut in Europe and Asia beginning later this year and in North America in 2010. read more... |

Ford Fiesta Spy Shots Show Verve Influences
15 December 2007, from autoblog.com
Brenda Priddy & Co. caught a Euro Fiesta mule filling up its gas tank in North Sweden, and the car can already be seen wearing a few cues inspired by the Verve Concept that debuted in Frankfurt. First and foremost is the large front grille that punctuates the cladding this mule is wearing. This car's beltline also sweeps up dramatically from front to back, and the rear taillights are mounted on the C/D-pillar just like the Verve's. Of course, we're interested in the European Fiesta because after it debuts over there next summer as a 2009 model, it will arrive in the U.S. virtually unchanged the following year as a 2010 model. Expect both three- and five-door hatchback models to be offered, which makes the loss of those model types in the larger Focus lineup a bit easier for us to swallow. read more... |

Ford Verve at the Franfurt Motorshow
12 September 2007, from 4car
Ford's replacement for the current Fiesta may not carry on that long-running name: this supermini concept is called Verve.
A curvy three-door hatch with hints of the new Mondeo and the S-Max, the Verve hints at Ford's design direction for future compact cars, and the company says it will closely gauge public reaction.
The Verve's interior has, Ford says, been inspired by the latest mobile phones, and the cabin features Ford's Convers+ control system with colour display screen. The car is finished with a protective tinted clear-coat paint and has a full-length glass roof and 18" alloys. Without window frames or B-pillars, it looks modern and upmarket. read more...

Ford Verve Announced
24 August 2007, from whatcar.co.uk
Ford will unveil a small-car concept called Verve at the Frankfurt motor show in just over two weeks - and says it is 'the first piece of the puzzle' in the build-up to 2009's Fiesta replacement.
Although the Verve will not go into production as shown - its roof is too low for practicality and its frameless side doors are too expensive to incorporate into a Fiesta-priced car - it could form the basis of a sporty three-door range-topper when the new Fiesta emerges, complete with egg-crate grille and coupe-like profile.
"'You can just imagine how exciting the successor to the Fiesta is going to be,' says Ford's European design director, Martin Smith. read more... |

Ford Verve Initial Press Release

Ford Verve Concept Hints at Ford’s Future Small-Car Design Vision
Ford Verve Concept – a bold and colourful concept car to be revealed at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show – gives the first hints of Ford’s future small-car design vision.
The significance of the Ford Verve Concept is that it's the first physical evidence of the design direction for an all-new small Ford since it was announced earlier this year that the European arm of the company's global Product Development group is taking the design and engineering lead in creating a new small-car portfolio for major world markets. The Ford Verve Concept is the first of three concept vehicles which will debut in key regions – Europe, Asia and North America. read more... |
